Has high intensity flash and high pitch sound to deter intruders. Controls include a "armed" mode and a "monitor" mode. Detector Control Governs the listening capability of the Model 980 when it is in the Armed Mode. The detector control setting is determined by the size and construction of the area to be protected as well as the sound level of normal internal noises such as air conditioners, furnaces, heaters, etc.

Monitor light control governs the operation of the red monitor light and flash when the system is in the monitor mode. High to low settings of this control provide more or less sensitivity to sound. Exit delay switch allows the user 1 to 60 seconds to leave and secure the building before the system becomes armed. Time starts when the system mode control is placed in the "Armed" Mode position.
