General Purpose of Job:
Develops and improves the quality system using APQP, failure analysis, durability testing, and product inspections. Validates process changes, develops quality standards, including measurement systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

§ Analyzes customer claims. Leads countermeasure activities.
§ Conducts APQP for new or changed processes and designs.
§ Performs gage design and kaizen.
§ Serves as primary customer contact for one or more Small Business Units.\par
§ Supervises Quality Assurance Associates.
§ Prepares PPAP or ISIR documents.
§ Develops testing and layout plans for process and/or design changes.\par
§ Coordinates and/or performs testing and layout.
§ Reviews daily scrap for assigned production areas.
§ Supports manufacturing defect C/M and improvement activities; leads activities as needed.
§ Coordinates SPC activities.
§ Makes decisions to accept or reject.

Education and/or Experience
§ B.S. degree in Engineering Required.
§ Minimum of three years experience as a quality engineer in an automotive parts manufacturing facility preferred.
§ Familiarity with TS 16949.
§ Knowledge of Design software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
